§ 94-2. Definitions and word usage.

  • For purposes of this chapter, the following terms, phrases, words and their derivatives shall have the meaning given herein. When not inconsistent with the context, words used in the present tense include the future tense, words used in the plural number include the singular number, and words used in the singular number include the plural number. The word "shall" is always mandatory and not merely directory.
    EMERGENCY RESPONSE
    The providing, sending or utilizing of police, fire fighting, emergency medical or rescue, or public works services by the Township of Grosse Ile, or by a private person or governmental agency operating at the request or direction of the Township, to an emergency technical rescue.
    PERSON
    Any person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, company or organization of any kind.
    TECHNICAL RESCUE
    Any rescue which may become injurious to the public health, safety, or welfare, or to persons, and shall include, but not be limited to, confined space, trench rescue, dive rescue or water and ice rescue, and any HAZMAT operations.
